At Workday DevCon in Las Vegas on June 2, 2026, Workday introduced Agent Passport, a verification system that tests and certifies AI agents against security and compliance standards before they operate within enterprise HR and finance systems. Cisco serves as the first attestation partner through its AI Defense product.
Agent Passport checks are tied to public standards including OWASP LLM Top 10, NIST AI RMF, and MITRE ATLAS. The system provides independent third-party verification through partner attestations, giving organizations confidence that both internal and third-party agents meet established security benchmarks before accessing sensitive workforce data.
“Platforms win when they make the hard thing disappear for the developer. Anyone can give an agent speed. The hard part is letting it act, and that’s what Workday Build makes disappear,” said Gabe Monroy, Workday’s Chief Technology Officer.
Alongside Agent Passport, Workday launched Developer Agent, which integrates with popular coding tools and enables developers to build AI agents using natural language, and Agent-Ready Tools, enterprise connectors that let agents access Workday data via open standards including the Model Context Protocol. Both are available to early access customers now with general availability projected for H2 2026. Agent Passport enters early access in the second half of 2026 with general availability before year-end.
The launch positions Workday as establishing governance infrastructure for the emerging ecosystem of AI agents that will interact with enterprise HR and financial data, a critical concern as organizations deploy agentic AI ahead of the EU AI Act’s August 2, 2026 enforcement deadline.
