At Workday Rising in San Francisco on September 16, 2025, Workday announced a significant expansion of its Illuminate platform with new AI agents purpose-built for HR, finance, and industry-specific workflows.

New HR agents include a Business Process Copilot Agent that automates implementation and configuration, a Case Agent for administrative task automation, a Document Intelligence for Contingent Labor Agent that accelerates statement of work creation, an Employee Sentiment Agent for feedback analysis, a Job Architecture Agent for ladder creation, and a Performance Agent for review streamlining.

Finance teams gained a Cost and Profitability Agent, a Financial Close Agent for month-end automation, and a Financial Test Agent for continuous fraud detection. Education-focused agents include an Academic Requirements Agent and a Student Administration Agent.

“Workday Illuminate is different,” said Gerrit Kazmaier, President of Product and Technology. The company is “transforming [ERP] from a passive system of record into a system of action.” Workday also introduced Flex Credits, a consumption-based subscription model for AI access. Agents launch through 2026, with Flex Credits available for purchase immediately.
